Julie Cypher is an American filmmaker and former partner of musician Melissa Etheridge. She is best known for her work as a music video director and producer, as well as her role in co-parenting Etheridge's children with her. Cypher and Etheridge were in a relationship from 1990 to 2000, during which time they had two children together, a daughter named Bailey and a son named Beckett. Cypher has been open about her experiences as a lesbian woman and a parent in the public eye, and has been an advocate for LGBTQ rights and visibility in the entertainment industry.
